Too Long on Maui

Franklin had this song kicking around incomplete. I fell in love with it right away and finished it for him. I wish I had the kind of voice to do it justice. Would love it if someone with great pipes were interested in doing it.

Just the other day
I was talking to an old friend
And she said that her time spent here
Was almost over
And that it didn't really matter
Whether she stayed
Or if she were to go

Time goes by
Yeah but it goes so slow
And soon
Your plane departs at noon
I said she had a lot of nerve
To leave me lost out here
On a sea of blue

And she said
That her time spent here
Was almost over
And then she said
You stayed one day too long on Maui
You stayed one too long
And then she said
You stayed one day too long in paradise
You stayed one too long
You stayed too long
You stayed too long
And now she's gone

Well, I guess it didn't matter
Love walked out the door
Your ship went sailing
Disappearing from the shore
Inconsequential this romance of mine
Maybe, just maybe

She said so long sweetheart
Maybe some other time
I'll see you, dreaming
That great lost love of mine
Somewhere in a sea of blue
Maybe, just maybe

REPEAT CHORUS
